How a new year turns up so quickly! Ahead of my annual ageing and longevity– AgeTech Event Roundup for 2026, it’s worth mentioning for you early birds that the AARP’s AgeTech Collaborative is back again for a 4th year at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas from Jan.6 – 9, 2026. This year is an action packed four days of snappy 30 minute sessions that cover a diverse range of subjects that cross a number of sectors.
As an example of subject areas you would expect to see, here are a few that stood out for me. First, something quite familiar on day one is speaker Nic Palmarini – Director at UK National Innovation Centre for Ageing talking about the City of Longevitywhich I have been following since 2023. Second, of course you can’t walk a longevity city without good shoes, so there’s a talk on “Bionic Footwear for Everyday Movement” by Luke Mooney – CEO of Dephy which is Nike’s robotics partner for Project Amplify.
On the third day is a look at the notion of “Your Living Room as Your Hospital Room” with Ricky Y. Choi, MD – Head of Digital Health, Samsung Electronics America & Pippa Shulman – Chief Medical Officer, DispatchHealth who will share what works for patients and providers regards delivery of hospital-grade care at home using high-touch and high-tech solutions that integrate into complex health systems.
In addition to these rapid-fire sessions there is a Start-Up Showcase of vendors who specialize in four sectors – Wellness & Prevention, Care Management, Diagnostics and Nutrition. At the AgeTech Collaborative exhibit booth there will be an “immersive media experience” designed to disrupt the old storyline about aging – The Future of AgeTech: Aging Without Limits and a new feature – AgeTech in the Home, where AgeTech innovation demonstrates how both emerging companies and established brands are approaching the future of aging.
Finally, what major AgeTech event like this could not have a Pitch Competition, plus the book launch this year – The Unicorn Protocol: Digital Health Unicorns, How They Got There and What You Can Learn from Them (2025) by Sally Ann Frank – Global Lead, Health & Life Sciences, Microsoft for Startups. While this certainly isn’t the only show in town, this event has proven that AgeTech has earned an embedded presence in the larger technology narrative.
