Towards a Decade of Healthy Ageing, From Evidence to Action
Change Rangers is a Conference Partner for the International Federation on Ageing IFA 2018 – August 8 -10 Toronto.
Only four weeks to go. The full conference program, with its timed daily schedule is now available on the IFA 2018 website. The download pdf file is 34 pages and “delegates are spoilt for choice” is an understatement. Though the program is described as preliminary, there is little time to expect major shifts in the program, considering the fact that each of the three days is so full and meticulously detailed over nine hours a day.
As a planner of several conferences on previous occasions, among many of the challenges for a conference team is to put on a value packed program of topics and speakers without overcrowding the agenda and allowing time for people to network and (as the word conference implies) – to confer. In the case of the IFA conference, on paper, it looks a little overwhelming, but kudos to those who have worked on pulling this together.
The depth and scope of the conference discussion themes is astounding and with the huge international audience from over 70 countries expected, this will be an experience. After studying the pre-preliminary listings for several weeks, I’ve been waiting for this published detailed program to map out what I truly want to see, and then stick to the plan. I guess it’s what you might call knowing how to work a conference.
Later in August, I will begin a special series of post-conference blog posts to share observations and ideas from what is learned. So, bring it on.
