Towards a Decade of Healthy Ageing, From Evidence to Action
As Change Rangers is a Conference Partner for the International Federation on Ageing conference IFA 2018 – August 8 -10 in Toronto, there will be a number of pre-conference blog posts over the coming months to update you on IFA session topics of a universal nature. These are aspects related to aging and the future of a longevity society, which will touch all generations over the decade to come.
First up piece of news is that while the call for abstract submissions deadline was Dec. 1st, and well over 500 abstracts have been received, there still appears to be a gap in what the IFA calls a spread of abstracts or key global topic issues. As of this date this means there is an open targeted call for abstracts in the following areas:
- UN and WHO goals and plans (MIPAA, SDGs and GSAP)
- Building Inclusive Communities
- Campaigns and Advocacy
- Aligning Health Systems
- Health Promotion and Disease Prevention
While no specific closure date has been mentioned for submission on these targeted topics, given the year-end Holiday season is at hand, my guess is that early January would be the latest. Check here for guidelines on abstract submissions.
This 14th IFA global conference is a real opportunity for Canadian professionals engaged in this field to interface with others around the world to share international perspectives. As a shout out to all the Conference Partners check here for the complete list.
