Biography
Mark Venning is a career strategist and founder of Change Rangers, a career service for organizations and individuals - executives and senior level professionals, exploring later life career options and Re-working Retirement.
Mark’s role in the career services industry (2004 – 2007) is the International President for the Association of Career Professionals International (ACP International).
From 1996 to 2001 Mark was a consultant to Bell Canada in their Toronto Employee Development Centre and overlapping for five years to 2003, Mark was a Senior Consultant at Murray Axmith & Associates and Right Management Consultants. From 1994 to 1997, Mark was on the Board of Directors of the Executive Advancement Resource Network (E.A.R.N.) a Work Search Networking Support Group.
As a member on the Board of Directors for Jewish Vocational Services (JVS) in Toronto for two years to 2004, Mark chaired the Program Advisory Group contributing a global perspective on future trends and issues related to the career services industry. He is currently on the Board of Directors for Contact Point - a Canadian website that provides multi-sectoral career development practitioners with career resources, learning and networking.
Mark is a member of the Professional Development team for the Canadian Education & Research Institute for Counselling (CERIC) and a member of the Canadian Association of Pre-retirement Planners (CAPP).
Through Change Rangers, Mark’s client focus is helping executives and senior level professionals in their exploration of later life career options and their quest to “Re-work Retirement”. He has designed and delivered workshops on the subject of Contracting and Consulting, Personal Marketing & Branding, Entrepreneurship and Business Planning. Mark is a certified trainer for the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (Level 2), Strong Interest Inventory.
Mark was a volunteer panelist for 4 years on the YMCA Toronto Self Employment Benefit program and for over 8 years he has evaluated business plans for clients who have applied for start up funding.
Prior to 1996, Mark worked extensively in the retail industry in a variety of management roles - operations, buying, manufacturing, sales & marketing. He has direct experience in the hiring and performance evaluation process, and earned a strong reputation as an enthusiastic leader. Mark’s writing and speaking engagements include Statistics Canada, Contact Point, George Brown College, Wired Woman and HRDC Opportunities Conferences. In June 2002 Mark received an Industry award for “Outstanding Leadership Across the Frontiers of Our Profession”.
