Exploring Contracting & Consulting Realities
Are you trying to reinvent yourself? After years of working for one organization, many people look at options outside traditional full time work arrangements. You may be considering contracting, consulting or other versions of “independent work”. However there is a blur that occurs when exploring the reality of these options and a difference in terms of how you position and manage relationships in the workplace.
In this workshop you will gain a better sense of direction and will learn about:
- The continuum from “employee to entrepreneur”- as you move forward in a workplace, where the shifting demographics and business priorities are changing the way you need to position yourself to organizations.
- Realities facing people on the move to a more independent life of working on a contract basis, constantly challenged by change and choice.
- Practical information on contracts, legal, financial, marketing and fee setting issues.
- Ways you can “raise the value of your career currency” as you market yourself as a resource.
Participants who weren’t quite ready to handle a more fluid work life will at best have a reality check on whether they have taken all the steps they knew they had to do and be encouraged by others who are further along in their planning.
Participants who have seriously considered this option will have the information and tools to move with greater clarity and confidence in navigating uncharted territory.
